More sustainability without compromising quality in parenteral packaging
The desire of many patients for more sustainability is becoming increasingly important for the pharmaceutical industry. Packaging, in particular, can make a big difference without compromising patient satisfaction and treatment quality. A basic requirement are packaging machines that can process environmentally friendly mono-materials and meet the constantly increasing demand for product combinations, smaller batches, and thus more frequent batch changes, as well as the desire for seamless traceability.
The PTC 200 meets all these requirements and enables you to implement future-proof packaging concepts and production methods.
Better handling and highest standards for your production
With every new medication and therapy approach, the demands of pharmaceutical companies, doctors, and patients for packaging become more diverse and complex. To meet all needs, increasingly flexible packaging systems are needed. The modular design of the PTC 200 creates a new level of versatility and enables you to the needs of users and patients first.
More flexibility through modular machine design
Up to six feeds and the optional integration with a labeler or assembly machine make different and changing product applications possible with just one PTC 200. Ampoules, vials, syringes or medical devices can be fed horizontally, vertically or suspended as required. However, the PTC 200 can also be used for manual loading of products and inserts.
More counterfeit protection through latest standards
Counterfeit-proof parenteral packaging with serialization is no problem for the PTC 200, nor are medical device and cold chain tracking. In addition to brand protection and product control, the Uhlmann inspection system also ensures the correctness and completeness of the products in stock.
More focus through ergonomics and space savings
Even the best packaging system is only as good as the people who work with it. That's why the PTC 200 focuses on the needs of the operators. Good visibility, simple operation, and guided format changes with visualization make handling the PTC 200 particularly ergonomic. On top of this, the side-loading principle shortens the machine length and thus the distances in production. Speaking of ergonomics, since the PTC 200 can produce packages with top opening, access to the package contents is made easier for the end users.

PTC 200 in detail
What materials does the PTC 200 process?
The PTC 200 can process trays made of three different materials: Cardboard, paper materials and plastic.
What can be packed on the PTC 200?
The PTC 200 can package parenterals and related accessories in varying combinations, as the modular concept allows the simultaneous use of different feeders, for example for ampoules, cartridges, vials, pens, syringes, needles, but also alcohol pads or adapters.
How powerful is the cartoner?
Optimally set, the PTC 200 packs up to 200 trays into folding boxes every minute. However, this value can vary depending on the number of feeders.
How fast is the change of product applications on the PTC 200?
The PTC 200 consists of 2 separate machines: the Tray Handling Unit T 200 and the Cartoner C 200. These machines can be changed over independently of each other by 2 people, which saves time. A complete changeover can be done within 20-30 minutes.
Is special training required to operate the PTC 200?
No special training is required to operate the Parenteral Tray Center 200, as it is designed for intuitive operation. For example, operators are guided through the entire format changeover process by the SmartControl operating system and supported during operation. This ensures optimum process reliability and fast commissioning even by less experienced operators.
How to control the PTC 200?
The PTC 200 is controlled via a human machine interface that uses the SmartControl operating system and can be integrated into the Pexcite software platform.
Can the PTC 200 cartoner be integrated with ERPs?
The PTC 200 can be integrated into new and existing IT environments and ERPs at any time.
Does the cartoner meet all "Track & Trace" requirements?
With the PTC 200, folding boxes are already serialized within the cartoner. In addition, other printing and marking systems can be integrated into the PTC 200's packaged goods chain. Together with the Pexcite software platform, which offers special track & trace solutions, the PTC 200 meets even the most stringent traceability requirements.
Which feeders are suitable for the PTC 200?
The PTC 200 is compatible with SyPro 2.0 feeders for syringes and needles; LiPro feeders for vials and ampoules; and feeders specifically for pens and injectors. In addition, components can also be fed by hand.
With which other machines can the cartoner be interlinked?
The PTC 200 can be interlinked with Uhlmann's end-of-line packers and operated via the same software and interfaces. This not only simplifies the process up to final packaging, but also the traceability of parenterals.
How to add packing information to the trays?
Uhlmann feeders for package inserts or booklets, as well as card inserts, allow the addition of package information to be customized to meet all requirements.
